Andrew A. Davis
July 13, 1983 – March 16, 2016

Andrew_Davis.jpgAt the age of 32, Andrew Davis passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 16, 2016.  Andrew is the youngest son of Reverend Dr. Edward Smith Davis, member of the Common Global Ministries Board and Conference Minister of the Southern Conference, United Church of Christ; and step-son of Reverend Dr. Sharon Ellis Davis. A Chicago-area native, Andrew Davis had a love for videography and television production.  Andrew held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Television Production from Columbia College in Chicago, IL and a Master of Arts degree in Television Production from New York Institute of Technology, NY.

Andrew was active in the United Church of Christ and Global Ministries.  In 2014, he was appointed to serve as a Long-Term Volunteer with Global Ministries partner, Caminante in the Dominican Republic.  Prior to his appointment with Caminante, Andrew worked on videography and television production projects for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, CNN, and Fox News.

Andrew also traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo on behalf of Global Ministries to film the life-giving work of partners in the Congo in preparation for the Global Ministries Congo Initiative.  Those who traveled to the Congo with Andrew, along with church members in the Congo, remember and share about Andrew’s gentle and approachable spirit that made everyone he encountered feel valued.

The Celebration of Life service for Andrew was held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at St. Mark’s United Church of Christ in Chicago Heights, Illinois.  Condolences may be sent to Andrew’s father, Reverend Dr. Edward Smith Davis, Southern Conference of the UCC, 252 B West Fifth Street, Burlington, NC 27215.
