Carlos Madrazo Retirement Recognized

The Global Ministries Committee of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Church of Christ and the Northwest Region of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) acknowledged and gave thanks for the life-long ministry of Dr. Carlos L. Madrazo, Jr. Dr. Madrazo has returned from his recent Global Ministriess assignment with the Protestant Church of East Timor. While in the United States he was hospitalized with a heart condition which required open-heart surgery

The Global Ministries Committee of the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Church of Christ and the Northwest Region of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) acknowledged and gave thanks for the life-long ministry of Dr. Carlos L. Madrazo, Jr.  Dr. Madrazo has returned from his recent Global Ministriess assignment with the Protestant Church of East Timor.  While in the United States he was hospitalized with a heart condition which required open-heart surgery.

Dr. Madrazo began his service in 1958 and he has served in the areas of  agricultural outreach, community development, education as a university professor and as a consultant for church resource and management.  His fifty-five years of service have taken him to Nepal, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia and East Timor. The Madrazos served a term as Interim Directors of the Yakama (WA) Indian Mission (Disciples of Christ).   

He has been a Global Mission Partner of the Northwest conference and region for eleven years. His membership is with the Bethany United Church of Christ in Seattle.  Carlos was married to Silversity Madrazo, who died during his last term in East Timor.  They have a daughter, Eunice, and a son, Joshua.
