Park Hill Christian Church, Kansas City, Missouri
In March 2010, the members of Park Hill Christian Church held an event to raise money for Haiti. The event was called “Hoops for Haiti.” In forty-five minutes, they raised $1,440.00 by allowing different participants to shoot free throws in the Church gymnasium. Shooters first went out and secured pledges for each successful shot. They had families vs. families, young vs. old, and novice vs. expert. They write: We encourage other churches to try these types of fund events. It makes raising funds a fun and effortless adventure.
