Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ has identified priority positions for special funding. These mission priority positions have been received by Global Ministries from partner churches and church agencies and will be filled on the basis of a special fund raising project. These fully supported positions provide the missionary with a modest salary, health care, pension, housing and additional benefits related to educational benefits for children.
Ghana: Senior Lecturer/Professor to serve at the Evangelical Presbyterian University in Ghana. Faculty are needed in Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Credit Management and Finance, Human Resource Management and Organization Development. Instruction is in English. Four-year term
Kenya: Senior Lecturer to serve with St. Paul's University in Computer Science. Master's Degree required and some teaching experience preferred. Three year term.
EAST ASIA AND THE PACIFIC
China: Hospital management: This position would be at Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, founded by Disciples Missionary, Dr. William E. Macklin 120 years ago. This person should have hospital management and medical background to bring new ideas and advanced management skill to the hospital. He or she also would work on capacity building to provide medical English training for medical doctors who either are going abroad to studies, or working on their medical research for international studies. This would be a 3 or 4 year term.
LATIN AMERICA & THE CARIBBEAN
Haiti: Medical doctor to serve as advisor for health care and the training of nurses with the National Spiritual Council of Churches in Haiti (CONASPEH). Medical degree and license to practice medicine in the United States required. Language training available. Four year term.
Haiti: Disaster coordinator advisor and theological teacher for the National Spiritual Council of Churches in Haiti (CONASPEH). Experience in the coordination of disaster response and/or pastoral ministry. Language training available. Four year term.
MIDDLE EAST & EUROPE
Lebanon: Editor, Middle East Council of Churches. This position of communication editor for all of the MECC’s official communication channels would include coordination of the communication activities, liaising with partner communication teams and assisting with communication about trends in the different cultural, confessional and regional contexts. Must have excellent writing skills, journalistic storytelling, and be a flexible team player. One year position with an option for extension.
