Isedet - Instituto Superior Evangelico de Estudios Teologicos
The Disciples helped to found the Instituto Superior Evangelico de Estudios Teologicos, or Superior Evangelical Institute of Theological Studies (ISEDET), an important theological studies institute recognized in Latin America. As part of the work of ISEDET, they are the headquarters office of six international organisms that joined our house in the Ecumenical Community to form a network of contacts, friendship and collaboration of immense value. They not only share the same place but they are a part of the educational community. On 20 July 1969, eight Protestant and Evangelical churches of the area of the Rio de la Plata decided to unify the Faculty of Evangelical Theology and the Lutheran School of Theology in a single entity with the name of Superior Institute of Theology. The influence and contributions of this ecumenical house of studies are recognized around the world. Among its professors and graduates are many Protestant leaders who played an important role in the birth of the ecumenical movement in Latin America.
ISEDET intends to be a place open to the creativity, reflection, research review and new forms of theological thinking, so as to respond to the needs of our time and contribute to proclaim the Gospel. This theological education is characterized by the ecumenical, evangelical, its identity and its search for contextuality. ISEDET is committed continual renewal of the Church and the reflection on the same.
