An Update from the Khayelihle Children's Village in Zimbabwe
"KCV still has 88 children in residence at the farm and 105 in the Community Orphan Care Programme (COCP). All the children are in good health including the ones who are taking Antiretroviral tablets (ARV). The children have since returned to their respective schools after a two weeks teachers' strike. Bambelela and Innocent who are currently doing a course in Microtechnolgy passed their first level examinations and we praise God for that. Fifteen of our children including those in the COCP will be writing their Ordinary Level Examinations this year. These are examinations which are taken after four years of secondary education. Gift Received for Bolenge Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo
Global Ministries is pleased to receive a significant Memorial Gift for Mrs. Ardythe M. Kleesattel.  Her husband, Reverend Robert E. Kleesattel, of Mt. Healthy Ohio, and their family provided this gift to supply items needed to equip the new pediatric unit of the Bolenge Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  "Ardythe was born October 17, 1928 and gained her pre-medicine degree from Bethany College in the hopes of serving in the Bolenge Hospital.  She passed away November 11, 2003."  Global Ministries is very grateful for this gift in memory of Ardythe M. Kleesattel.  The new equipment provided, along with the new pediatric wing of Bolenge Hospital will be dedicated during a Global Ministries visit there in February 2010. Worship in South Africa from a Missionary Kids Perspective
GM Missionary, Scott Couper, shares about a recent experience with his son as they participated in a worship service at Umzumbe: "Micah, my son, was unsure about attending the inkonzo (worship) with me at Umzumbe.  It was a church, far away, two hours away, mostly on a dirt road.  He would not understand much as the worship is conducted in isiZulu.  Besides, in his opinion, I, the umfundisi (minister), usually preached the intshumayelo (sermon) for too long!  He did not need to hear more of me.  Also, Micah knew that Sunday School would be much different.  He would not know the other children either.  He feared would not know the songs.  He thought he would probably just sit and be bored…" To read the entire story, click here: http://globalministries.org/africa/missionaries/story-told-to-my-childs.html
