Reverend William "Bill" H. Daniels (1919-2010)

Global Ministries is saddened to learn of the death of Reverend William "Bill" H. Daniels on January 1, 2010, at the age of 90.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 17, 1919, Bill was the son of the late John M. and Martha Smith Daniels. He and his wife, Elizabeth Jane Daniels, had recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on November 9, 2009.

Reverend Daniels received his bachelor's degree from Ursinus College in 1943; his master's degree in theology from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1945; and his second master's degree in theology from Yale University Divinity School in 1952.

He retired in 1986 after serving as a parish minister for four years in Benalla, Victoria, Australia. His previous callings were as a missionary along with his wife, Jane, in China from 1947 to 1951; Caroline Mission United Church of Christ (UCC) in St. Louis, MO from 1952 to 1963; Greater Louisville Metropolitan Mission of the UCC in Louisville, KY from 1963 to 1968; Detroit Metropolitan Association of the UCC in Detroit, MI from 1968 to 1982.  Bill was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his son, Paul W. Daniels, and grandson, James W. Daniels, both of Springfield, VA.
