Rita Rani Baroi is a member of the Wazirpur Community Development Project (CDP). Before she joined the CDP, Rita lived hand to mouth. She joined the development group in August 2004 as a cashier at the beginning of the Wazirpur project. Rita drew her third loan this year. Several years ago, she bought a calf with 4000 taka* (with the first loan of 2000 taka and her personal savings of 2000 taka). After two years the cow birthed another calf. Rita Rani Baroi is a member of the Wazirpur Community Development Project (CDP). Before she joined the CDP, Rita lived hand to mouth. She joined the development group in August 2004 as a cashier at the beginning of the Wazirpur project. Rita drew her third loan this year. Rita has two children, one son and one daughter who are going to school. They are also drinking milk from their own cow. She used the third loan to start a grocery shop. She has been able to dig a small pond for fish and cultivates different kinds of vegetables for the market. Husband and wife, both of them, are active and earn money. Now Rita is the chair of her CDP group. She is happy with her family.
