The Near East School of Theology (NEST) is an interdenominational Protestant theological seminary serving the Evangelical churches of the Middle East and African churches. A predecessor of Global Ministries (a UCC and Disciples common witness) was one of the founding mission boards for NEST, formed in 1932 by the merger of the School for Religious Workers in Beirut and the School of Religion in Athens, Greece. It was built on a history of evangelical theological education going back to 1835. In 1971 the School was moved to its new home: a modern, well-equipped building two blocks south of the American University in Ras Beirut.

The NEST is an undergraduate and graduate theological seminary offering the following programs: B.A. in Christian Education; B.Th. with emphasis in pastoral studies; B.Th. in Christian Education; M.A.C.E. a graduate program for educational ministries; M.Div. for Pastoral ministry; and the S.T.M. a post graduate research degree.  It also engages in a Christian-Muslim Thought Forum, designed to further the engagement of Christians and Muslims around current issues from theological perspectives.
