The work of Global Ministries partner medical missions in rural India is providing a critical ministry to an immense population in poor rural and agricultural communities for whom medical care has always been unreliable in quality and availability.

On a recent visit to medical missions in Chattisgarhh, staff of Global Ministries, One Great Hour of Sharing, and Week of Compassion saw lives being saved - saved from disease and saved from the danger of untrained medical practitioners who often cause great harm to the ignorant and trusting who seek help indiscriminately.  The critical medical missions of our Indian church partners include not only the hospitals, but also the institutions which train the medical staff. 

The Tilda Evangelical Mission Hospital, located near Raipur, Chattisgarhh, is a hospital of the Church of North India, a strong Global Ministries partner church.  One of its main priorities is to strengthen the Tilda Nursing School in order to provide well-trained professionals in their area.  The Tilda Nursing School graduates approximately 40 nurses each year who then serve in many of the local hospitals.  The Tilda Nursing School is working hard to keep up with the demand for its nurses and to maintain the highest quality training program possible. 

The School is limited by the lack of funding for upgrading facilities and for providing educational resources to the school.  The professional training materials in the school library are used to train many nurses.  The Tilda Evangelical Hospital and Nursing School recently requested assistance from Global Minsitries to improve the medical library at the school.
