The congregation of Kirkland Congregational Church in Kirkland, WA, recently offered presentations from eyewitnesses of the continuing difficulties faced by Palestinians in the troubled lands of Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
Reverend Jason Boyd, Pastor of Kirkland Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, recently returned from a trip to the Holy Land led by Disciples Janet and Jeff Wright from Fort Collins, Colorado. He and the mission group met with numerous groups in Israel and the West Bank and visited troubled places “from the news,” including Hebron and Ramallah. In addition, Ms. Gerri Haynes, a longtime leader in Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility, recently traveled to Gaza as part of a humanitarian effort, having organized a team of doctors and other medical professionals. An offering was received during the evening and $189.00 was designated for the Rawdat El Zuhur School in East Jerusalem.
