Interfaith Toolkit

We have continued to make advances in the area of interfaith dialogue and encounter. A new “Interfaith Toolkit” has been developed by the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ that provides “easy to use” resources to engage in local interfaith encounter and study.

To obtain a copy of the Interfaith Toolkit, go to: http://www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/interfaith/interfaith-toolkit/

This kit contains a variety of resources to help as you engage with neighbors of faiths other than your own, or prepare to do so. It contains “how to do it” sorts of pieces, examples of what others have done, as well as more reflective materials on interfaith relationship as an integral part of being faithful followers of Jesus Christ.

The Interfaith Toolkit has been designed to be flexible. Individual “tools” will be updated, or deleted if not found useful. All the “tools” in this kit are available to be printed from this Web site, and to be used freely.

The tool kit is the work of staff members serving a number of churches in the United States, and particularly of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ. The Handbook on Faithful Living Workshops is the result of an ecumenical project involving four local communities in the United States, conducted by Jay T. Rock, and funded by the Greenville Foundation and the UCC/Disciples of Christ. Material from other sources, including an interfaith study guide created for Disciples, and “A Study Resource on Interreligious Relations for the United Church of Christ,” is clearly marked so that you can use it with proper credit to its creators.
