Oregon Group Visits FEDICE in Ecuador

September 29, 2010

A group of 16 folks from Oregon Region traveled to Ecuador for a 10 day pilgrimage. They did VBS, worked on a childcare center building and visited local sustainable development projects -- all of this in partnership with FEDICE, one of Global Ministries partners.  They also worshiped in 2-3 churches and enjoyed a meal in the home of Victor Vaca, former Global Ministries missionary and director of FEDICE.  They were accompanied in their travels by Victor Vaca and the current FEDICE director, Blanca Puma. The group included.

  • 1 one college student
  • 4 retirees
  • 11 mid-lifers taking time off from their jobs
  • Representing 6 congregations
  • 5 clergy
  • 11 laity
  • 5 members of the MMI team of Oregon Region.

The Oregon Region has been faithfully walking with FEDICE in a Global Church Partnership over a number of years. Regular pilgrimages, exchanges and special giving projects have nutured that relationship over the years. Here is a video summary of the trip:
