Kairos Palestine: Easter alert

Written by Kairos Palestine

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Please accept our best wishes and regards from Bethlehem!

With this letter we would like to inform you about our upcoming Kairos Palestine Easter Alert.

Kairos Palestine is currently preparing an Easter Alert, in order to bring awareness about the deteriorating situation – not only during Easter time – in Jerusalem and to encourage churches, parishes, lay-persons and clergy all around the world to remember this season that marks the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The idea is to focus on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday on a different issue, highlighting the deep impact of the Israeli occupation on all levels of life in Jerusalem. This year we are focussing on the following topics:

  1. Revocation of Residency Rights in East-Jerusalem
  2. Home Demolition in East-Jerusalem
  3. The reality of education in occupied Jerusalem (private schools and public schools)
  4. Our call for resurrection: Access to worship

We combine statistics and facts on the ground with theological reflections, interviews and case studies. In this matter we cooperate with the following esteemed Palestinian Human Rights Organisations: The Society of St. Yves, The Civic Coalition for Palestinian Rights in Jerusalem and Land Research Center – Arab Studies Society.

We will officially send out the Easter Alert on the 7th of April, 2014.

With faith, hope and love,
Kairos Palestine – A Moment of Truth
