It is a cold winter in Japan this year. We look forward to spring, which is about the time this letter will get to you! In the spirit of Easter, let me share a few heart-warming stories of hope!

Participants at the “Inter-religious Conference on Nuclear Issues” held in Fukushima, Japan in December 2012, had a chance to visit and hear first-hand accounts of the suffering inflicted by the nuclear disaster in Japan. The following is an excerpt from a statement which came out of the conference.

I just returned from leading a 10 day study tour with 12 students. The study tour is a social work study tour to a rural part of Hawaii to learn how nonprofit agencies in the United States (particularly Hawaii) work to provide help to people in need.

Global Ministries is saddened to learn of the death of Reverend Mary Edith "Tinker" Williams, former missionary to Japan.
