Prayers for Kenya:
Almighty God, who shows love to all creation, we come before you in this very difficult time to ask for your mercy upon us. Matthew’s message to early believers was to comfort them in their faith and to give them boldness, knowing that a faithful life is always rewarded.
As we read the gospel of Matthew, we understand that soil represents those who hear the word and our hearts are the centers that embrace the good news. We fight against the devil who tries to distract us from listening and keeping your word in our hearts. We endure difficulties and persecution, but you always stand by our side.
Just as a planted seed starts to grow, your word does the same by taking root within our lives. Most of the time, our lives are not pleasing to you because we sometimes focus on things that distract us from following your ways. We humbly come before you to ask for forgiveness. The uncertain future due to the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a life of despair and worry. We ask for your comfort as we seek ways to live with the pandemic since no solution has been found yet.
We come before you asking for intervention as the number of infected people is still growing in Kenya. We pray that your healing hand be upon those who are infected. We pray that an effective medicine to combat the sickness be speedily found. We pray for the relevant governments and health authorities, that they take appropriate steps for the good of the people. Look upon us in your mercy and forgive us our sins.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. AmenRead more

The Executive Committee of the National Council of Churches of Kenya has held an Extra Ordinary meeting on a virtual platform to transact statutory business and reflect on matters of national concern. We recognize that the whole world is currently experiencing a great trial that is forcing us to change how we live and carry out our businesses. We appreciated that the Bible teaches us that with oneness, we shall overcome the challenge we are facing, as we read in Jeremiah 32: 38 – 39
They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me for their own good and the good of their children after them.
With this in mind, we wish to share the following message with all Kenyans.Read more
There is no gain in repeating the obvious that the Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic has put the world on its knees. Nations and their peoples are anxious and afraid of the worst as infections and loss of lives are on the rise daily in several countries. As this reality takes its toll, there is loss of livelihood, with the poor and vulnerable suffering depression and groaning on how to find something to eat and feed their families.Read more

Prayers for Kenya:
Lord, you told us to keep heart and not be troubled knowing that you go to prepare a place for us in the Father’s house. We live in this world as pilgrims, as the nation of Kenya goes through a lot of challenges, economically, socially, and financially, we pray Lord that you help your people put their trust in you and you alone.
God, let the leadership of the nation of Kenya be godly and caring the way Jesus cares for His disciples. Let them give hope and encouragement to their people the way our Lord Jesus did to the disciples in times of despair.
Lord, we pray for the nation of Kenya as it now lives in a very difficult moment with the appearance of COVID-19. The future becomes more and more uncertain. Those who trusted in their secured jobs live now in despair, those who accumulated wealth as a way of securing the future are hopeless. Lord, remind us in such situations that you are the solution for all our problems and we have to believe in you.
Lord, Kenya operates in a growing entrepreneurial middle class and steady growth. Its economic development has been impaired unfortunately by weak governance and corruption. We pray God that you illuminate the mind of those in power to seek the welfare of all Kenyans. Corruption is a gangrene that kills the economy, so Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray that you help the leadership of Kenya to appoint leaders of integrity who can work for societal transformation.
O God, we lift the nation of Kenya to you for the issue of unemployment and under-employment which are extremely high. People normally live day-to-day. With the issue of lockdown because of COVID-19, it becomes very difficult for common people to get daily bread. Lord, you are the provider for the needy, we pray that you provide daily bread for families who cannot afford it.
Because of the tough economy of the country and the lockdown for COVID-19, insecurity has become a serious issue. People who go out for shopping are being attacked by bandits. Lord, we pray for the protection of your people.
Lord, you said if we ask anything in your name you will do it. Hear our prayers, O God, and respond according to you will.
We pray and believe that you have heard our prayers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!Read more

Prayers for Kenya:
God, we thank you for the work of Rev. Helena in the Volta Region of Ghana with African Independent Churches on leadership and Social Transformation. We are grateful for the extraordinary work and role that Queen Mothers play in Ghana. We are blessed to have a tradition of strong women in Africa like the Queens Mothers and many others throughout Africa who stand in the tradition of the Samaritan women. These women were not silenced by taboos, they challenge stereotypes and point the community to the liberating, transforming power of Jesus who went against oppressive norms in societies. Amen.Read more
