AACC convened the Executive Committee in Nairobi on the 18th May, 2012 mainly for the preparations for the Golden Jubilee celebrations and the tenth General Assembly which will be held in Kampala, Uganda in June 2013.

The children of Henrietta United Church of Christ (Henrietta, New York) bring exuberance, questions, and insights into their church school.  Classes are grouped by age, Pre-K through Youth, and use activities, music, stories, projects, and discussions to help kids learn Bible stories and apply biblical truths to their lives, growing in faith and Christian character.  This spring the children raised $200.00, which they designated for “Bicycles for Kenya,” a gift that will provide one bicycle for a pastor serving in rural Kenya.  Each pastor or evangelist in Kenya might serve several preaching points or small churches but cannot afford the purchase and upkeep of a motor vehicle.  Urgent requests come for bicycles for pastors in Kenya in order for them to reach their churches more quickly than they do on foot.  Knowing the importance of their own bicycles in their own lives, the children identified with this project and were able to help a pastor in a faraway country.

The National Council of Churches of Kenya has been managing community health care in the Mathare Valley Slum area since 1972 and serves a quarter of the 500,000 residents of the slum. The oldest slum in the city of Nairobi, Mathare, was built in 1954 for laborers who worked in rock quarries for Asian employers. Though nearly all employment opportunities are long gone, many people had nowhere else to go and stayed on. Mathare is a sprawling stretch of ten poor villages.

The Garba Tulla Children's Home is one of two children’s homes sponsored by the National Council of Churches of Kenya, a longtime partner of Global Ministries. Established in 1970, it is located in the northeast area of Nairobi, in the Garba Tulla Division of the Isiolo District.

The congregation of Mayfield Congregational Church in Sycamore, Illinois, hosted a Vacation Bible School in Day Camp format.  Through the generosity of members, the Vacation Bible School took place at a working farm complete with horses, sheep, chickens, and kittens.  Various wildlife were also very present.  They decided that their mission offering should go to help farmers around the world.  After reading a report from Global Ministries missionary Phyllis Byrd, serving in Kenya, they decided to support farming efforts in Kenya.  Reverend Mary G.
