Our women's organization "Building the Future" is located in the parish San Buena Ventura and belongs to Latacunga Province. It is eight years old. We are rural peasant people but women who struggle. To face poverty we gather a group of 27 women, and 2 men.Read more
In our community FEDICE began its work in the year 1998 with smaller projects of guinea pigs and rabbits. Then, we started with the project of cultivation of white onion. Later on we included the Ovine Project. It was very good and the FEDICE is helping us with another project of cattle.Read more

Up until these last two years the first thing I thought of when I heard the word courage was the cowardly lion from the Wizard of Oz. This mental picture, of course, makes me smile. But a new sobering image has replaced the amusing one. Now, my vision of courage comes from the women of Guatemala. Let me give you one portrait out of which this idea evolved.
