Tom Morse, GM Missionary to China, shares about his first term as an English teacher
"I've just finished my first term as an Amity teacher working in rural China. The college I work at is at the bottom of the ladder as far as colleges go in China, and it doesn't even offer a 4 year program. The students almost all come from the countryside and their families struggle to pay the few hundred dollars a year Nanning Teachers college costs. Out of 320 or so students about 95% of them are female, and about 50% are labeled as ethnic minorities. Most of them will go back to their hometowns to become English teachers in middle schools and high schools. The scary part is they can hardly speak English." GM Missionary Anil Henry shares about a Tiny Miracle in India
"This is a story about a set of twins born prematurely who were spared because of an incubator we received.  I know that we had looked forward to the container reaching Chennai (Madras) and each day we waited for the news..."  Anil Henry

Alex Morse, Global Mission Intern in the Dominican Republic, shares Reflections of Hope
"Yesterday, I started to look through and sort the thousands of pictures that I've taken here in the Dominican Republic.  Things that at first seemed so different now seem so normal....  It was good looking at the pictures too, because at times it can feel like I've accomplished very little during my seven months here.  I have yet to have a student of my English classes leave speaking fluent English, and for some reason AIDS still seems to be a problem, despite all the time I've spent giving talks, handing out brochures, and helping people get tested.  But looking at the pictures reminded me that it is all part of a bigger picture, one that takes more time than a few months to develop.  And, while I have no pictures to share of street children returning to their homes, I do have pictures of children who for a few hours have hope for a better future, a person with AIDS feeling a little less lonely, and street kids just being kids..." GM Missionaries Doug and Liz Searles share about their home assignment
"Summer 2007, in Chengdu, China, we Searles boxed up our belongings, tried to say our goodbyes well, locked behind us the door of our home of six years, and boarded the plane for the U.S.  Since then, we have been on home assignment doing what's known in mission circles as "itineration"-sharing the good news of the work of Common Global Ministries in China and the world..."  Doug and Liz Searles

GM Missionary Carla Giger shares about her first full year in South Africa
"What an amazing year and a half it has been.  2007 was my first full year in South Africa, serving as a Global Mission Intern with Global Ministries.  I have two assignments here in South Africa.  The first is to be the program coordinator for an HIV/AIDS prevent program for teenage girls called GASA or Girls Against the Spread of AIDS.  The second is to be the assistant director of Bridgman Youth Center.  Currently, there are three programs running at Bridgman.  An after school program (Aftercare), GASA, and a Saturday School for high school students to help assist with homework and classes.  The majority of my time is spent between the GASA and Aftercare programs..."  Carla Giger
