The United Congregational Church of Southern Africa shares a video update on COVID-19

The UCCSA is One Church in Five Countries –Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The UCCSA was formed in 1967 but traces its origins back more than 200 years to the arrival of the first missionaries sent by the London Missionary Society to Southern Africa. Today over 500,000 members worship in over one thousand local churches across the five countries of the UCCSA.

In common with Congregational churches around the world, the UCCSA governs itself in the belief that each local church is a ‘gathered’ company of Christian believers, whose only credal statement is the biblical affirmation: “JESUS IS LORD”.

Our synergy with the Southern Africa Region is also authentic part of who we are, that we celebrate and share with the world. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to Justice and Ubuntu. We believe in God’s preferential option for the poor and oppressed. Together as members, whether we are preaching the Good News of the Gospel, teaching, or tending loving service we strive to do each of our acts of love and our deeds in the spirit of the African philosophy of Ubuntu.
