The Vacation Bible School at First Christian Church in Pensacola, Florida, decided to raise funds for the ministries of Global Ministries missionary Elena Huegel in Chile. Their theme was SonWorld Adventure Park. Reverend A. Franklyn Brooks reports: Just to liven things up, the boys and girls had a penny contest to see which group could raise the most money to send . . . It appears the competition between boys and girls/men and women was fierce. As the offerings increased, little blue and pink roller coaster cars slid across the wall in the sanctuary to a grand total finish of $715.02. Reportedly, a mad dash at the end of VBS put the girl’s car in front.
