Stories from Children at Tibetan Children’s Village

India

One young lady writes:  Since the time I was separated from my parents and country, I couldn’t get their love and care.  I became lonely and helpless.  I had a feeling of dying, missing my parents and home.  But people whom I never knew existed came into my life and filled the emptiness of my heart even though our blood and race are not the same.  Since the day [a sponsor] came into my life, I have felt the warmth of my parents’ love and care that I have missed.  These people, my unknown god-parents, have given me parental love and care.  They send me lots of presents.  I do not know how they look physically.  I can do nothing else than pray to God to give them an awesome life full of happiness and peace.  Today I want to say:  Thank you, my sponsors.  Thank you for advising me like my own parents.  Thank you for your kindness and thank you so much for everything.

pic11.jpgAnother young lady wrote a short essay entitled Life:  Life is beautiful but not always easy, it has problems and the challenge lies in facing them with courage, letting the beauty of life act like a balm, which makes the pain breathe during tiring times, by providing hopes.  Life is full of moments of joy, pleasure, success and comfort punctuated by misery, defeat, failures and problems.  There is no human being on earth who is strong, powerful, wise or rich, who has not experienced struggle, suffering, failures and problems.  No doubt, life is beautiful and a celebration of being alive moment, but one should always be ready to face challenges.  A person who has not encountered any difficulties in life can never achieve success.  Thus, life is and should not be just a bed of roses, thorns are also a part of it and should be accepted by us just as we accept the beautiful side of life.
