Augusta Victoria Hospital Launches Mobile Diabetes Clinic

Augusta Victoria Hospital Launches Mobile Diabetes Clinic

#Palestine

On this day, we pray again with and for our sisters and brothers in Palestine and Israel who have called for an ecumenical prayer vigil across the globe on the 24th of every month.  Our hope is that this vigil will continue until we all can celebrate an end to the occupation and a just and lasting resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

As we work together for an end to occupation, we celebrate the continued ministry of Augusta Victoria Hospital, bringing healing to the most vulnerable. On Saturday, 22 February 2014, Augusta Victoria Hospital’s community program celebrated the inauguration of the first mobile diabetes clinic to serve the southern part of Palestine. The event, held in Hebron, was attended by the Palestinian Authority Minister of Health, the Governor of the Hebron District, and the Representative of DanChurchAid. The LWF was represented by AVH CEO Dr. Tawfiq Nasser, the LWF Regional Representative, and numerous AVH staff. The mobile clinic is equipped with an eye clinic and a foot care clinic to treat diabetes patients.
