AFRICA

Location: Lesotho South Africa – Position: Planning and Project Officer and Part-time Lecture at Morija Theological Seminary

Location: Africa (Southern Africa)- Lesotho 
Position: Planning and Project Officer and Part-time Lecture at Morija Theological 
Seminary Brief Description: Work closely with LECSA’s Planning and Project Commission and the Health Fund Steering Committee regarding the Church’s schools, churches, institutions, and infrastructure. The Officer will also support the identification and implementation of strategic and developmental priorities, and participate in the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of programs and projects to ensure they align with organizational goals. Lecturer at Morija Theological Seminary (Part-time): Teach courses in theology, ethics, and leadership, integrating both practical and academic perspectives. Additionally, mentor and assess students in their academic and ministerial development.

LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN

EUROPE/MIDDLE EAST

Location: Cairo, Egypt – Position: Communications and International Relations Associate

Partner: Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services 
Position: Communications and International Relations Associate 
Location: Cairo, Egypt 
Brief Description: This position would support CEOSS’ International Relations and Resource Development office as well as the office of the President. The former is charged with maintaining CEOSS’ partner relations and communications, especially with English-language outlets. 
The main areas of responsibility for this position include: 
1. Writing project proposals and follow-up reports 
2. Assisting in the President’s office in writing articles and in theological research. 
3. Assisting in identifying potential new sources of funding for the work of CEOSS 
4. Supporting the media work and publications of CEOSS 
5. Assisting in developing creative ways to present and promote CEOSS’ current development work.

EAST ASIA/PACIFIC

Location: Iligan City, Philippines – Position: Dansalan School Peace Education GM Intern (1 year appointment.

Partner: Dansalan College Foundation (UCCP-related) 
Position: Dansalan School Peace Education GM Intern 
Location: Iligan City, Philippine 
Position Description: This GMI (Global Mission Intern) position will assist this UCCP-related school with primary and secondary school programs. Responsibilities will include teaching English and a secondary subject, as well as assist in a variety of community education and engagement programs. In addition, the GMI would help with the campus sustainable agriculture projects, which are helpful in conserving resources but also an important learning environment for the school and community in the areas of health, environmental stewardship, community resilience and peace through community-building.

Process to be considered for Mission Co-worker Positions:

  1. Apply here.
  2. If your application is eligible for consideration, the International Recruitment and Training Coordinator will schedule an interview with the candidate to begin discernment if there is a match between the needs of international partners and the candidate’s gifts and skills.
  3. If approved by the International Recruitment and Training Coordinator, a follow up interview will be held with the candidate, International Recruitment and Training Coordinator, and Global Relations Minister(s) for the region(s) in which the candidate is considering service.
  4. If approved by the International Recruitment and Training Coordinator and Global Relations Minister, an interview will be held with the candidate, International Recruitment and Training Coordinator, and Global Relations Minister(s) for the region(s) in which the candidate is considering service, and representatives of the international partner organization.
  5. If the partner organization is ready to invite the candidate to serve, the Mission Personnel Committee of Global Ministries will invite the candidate for an in-person interview with staff. A psychological and medical evaluation by medical professionals will take place at this time as well.
  6. If the Mission Personnel Committee approves the candidate, their candidacy will be shared with the Disciples Overseas Ministries, United Church of Christ, and Common Global Ministries boards of directors.
  7. The candidate will be present at either the Fall or Spring meeting of the Common Global Ministries Board, which will vote on the candidate.
  8. If affirmed by the board, the candidate will be commissioned as a mission co-worker.
  9. The candidate will participate in the Mission Conference for mission co-workers.
  10. The mission co-worker will be sent out to their place of service and begin their ministry. Please note that this process can take 6 months to 1 year to complete, depending on availability of positions and partners’ readiness to receive mission co-workers.
