For God So Loved the World Global Justice Discussion

During the 2025 Disciples’ General Assembly, Disciples Home Missions and Disciples Overseas Ministries hosted a tour of the National Civil Rights Museum and Lorraine Motel. The event included the tour and a brief conversation around the exhibit “A Culture of Resistance: Slavery in America 1619-1861.”  We now offer follow-up discussions for participants.

What an amazing and powerful experience we had at the National Civil Rights Museum during General Assembly! Now, it’s time to gather, reflect, and share our personal journeys with our community.

Virtual Discussions

We’re excited to offer two opportunities for you to connect virtually and process the impactful visit to the museum. These discussions will be a space to talk about how the experience moved you and what it means for your work moving forward. We’ll be using the following questions to guide our conversation:

  • What are the motivations that led you to this work?
  • What parts do capitalism and global economics play in the fight for human rights?
  • What can we commit to doing together to help fight for human rights?

You can choose the time that works best for you:

  • Tuesday, September 4, 7-8 p.m. EST
  • Sunday, September 7, 7-8 p.m. EST

Please register for the discussion of your choice using this link: https://forms.gle/fqzpQacV79rfA7AS6. Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you a Zoom link.

We can’t wait to see you there!
