Perichoresis in Greece affirms and celebrates partnership on the 30th Anniversary of Global Ministries
Perichoresis is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the 30th Anniversary of Global Ministries and to help highlight the powerful stories that reflect our shared mission and partnerships.
Global Ministries has walked alongside our community in meaningful and tangible ways during times of change and challenge. The partnership between Global Ministries and Perichoresis began in 2016, when we received the first donation to support the purchase of medicines and to provide essential medical care, such as vaccinations, for the children of the Syrian refugees we were hosting in Katerini. This initial act of solidarity marked the beginning of a relationship grounded in compassion, trust, and shared purpose.
In 2022, when we welcomed the first Ukrainian families to Katerini, Global Ministries responded immediately, offering support during a critical and uncertain time. The funding enabled Perichoresis to cover the rent for two apartments for 10 months, ensuring safe and stable housing for these families (mothers with children) as they began rebuilding their lives. Today, Olga and her family continue their life in Katerini, having achieved many meaningful milestones thanks to that initial support. One of the most inspiring is her oldest daughter, who is now studying at the University in Thessaloniki with the dream of becoming a doctor. Similarly, Marina and her family have found their way to Thessaloniki, where they are courageously rebuilding their lives and looking toward a brighter future. Global Ministries’ readiness to stand with us once again demonstrated a deep commitment to accompaniment and care.
From 2017 until today, Global Ministries has continued to support our work in many ways and across various projects such as the Food Bank project, the “Agka ia-Hug’ project, the educational project, etc. Their presence has strengthened our ability to respond to emerging needs, serve vulnerable communities, and remain hopeful even in difficult circumstances.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we wish to express our sincere gratitude, especially to Dr. Peter Makari, for your continued communication and updates, your dedication to raising awareness, and your prompt response to every need that arises. You hold a special place in our hearts, in Perichoresis NGO and in our church community as a whole.
Through all these moments, Global Ministries has not only provided assistance but has truly journeyed with us – reflecting the spirit of unity and shared calling expressed in Ephesians 4:4: “There is one body and one Spirit.”
