30th Anniversary Advent Devotional

“Among Us Now: Glimpses of God’s In-Breaking Realm”
edited by Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins and Rev. Dr. Rick Lowery

The season of Advent invites us to “prepare for the coming of the Lord” both as infant on Christmas Eve and as transforming presence in the world. The 30th anniversary Global Ministries devotional leans into Hebrew Bible passages that highlight God’s intent for the world to live in God’s justice and peace. It reminds us that Jesus comes into the world to show us how to conduct our lives according to the values of God’s realm even as we also exist in Caesar’s empire. It is designed to help us reflect deeply on the call and example of the incarnate God, born among us, who walks with us through these challenging times.
