CEOSS Forum for Intercultural Dialogue calls for dialogue and non-violence in Egypt crisis

The Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, a Global Ministries partner, issued the following statement in the context of the continuing political crisis in Egypt:

CEOSS Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, as an Egyptian institution for dialogue that embraces thousands of intellectual leaders, religious leaders both Muslims and Christians, university professors and media professionals, called upon different groups represented in the various political forces for serious and effective dialogue. This can be granted through providing an appropriate atmosphere that rejects violence and proposes all visions and suggestions through which the country can survive and stop shedding blood of Egyptians, regardless of any political or religious affiliations to achieve progress and development.

This was stated by Dr. Rev. Andrea Zaki – CEOSS General Director, who also confirmed that the  statement called upon the different groups to address the current situation ensuring the unity of the country and the security of its people. He also called for thinking rationally in dealing with the controversial issues in hand and work out a solution to the current crisis that meets all the needs of citizens, in line with the basic principles of democratic systems that guarantee the rule of law and the separation of powers, and ensures the rights of citizenship for all.
