Chinese Christians in Beijing Provided Religious Services for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games

With God’s blessing, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the Beijing 2008 Paralympics Game ended successfully.  The Beijing Christian Council, Global Ministries partner in China, had a Christian chapel in the Beijing Olympic Village.  A Christian Chapel Service Team was formed by 5 pastors, 2 elders and 9 seminarians.  From July 20 to September 20, 2008, they conducted more than 20 worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies and other gatherings.  The team enjoyed their part in the Olympic activities by praying, blessing, offering thanksgiving, encouraging and sharing with international friends from more than 100 countries. Several thousands visitors, including country leaders, delegation officials, athletes and other visitors, had Christian experiences with Chinese pastors and Christian sisters and brothers at the Olympic Village Chapel and in other churches in Beijing.  With special orders placed by the International Olympic Committee, Amity Foundation,  also a Global Ministries partner, printed 100,000 New Testament (The Four Gospels) Bibles, the special edition for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
