CMEP Action Alert: Tell Congress to secure funding for the East Jerusalem Hospital Network
The East Jerusalem Hospital Network (EJHN) forms the backbone of the Palestinian healthcare system, especially in Gaza. By providing tertiary care, medical training, and specialized treatments Gaza itself, the EJHN provides a level of care not available in the West Bank and Gaza. They meet critical medical needs, including treatment for over 150 cancer patients.
Contact your Members of Congress Today: Tell Them to Support Funding for the EJHN
Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) recognizes the crucial impact of the EJHN and urge Congress to continue generously funding it, just as they have over 15-years of bipartisan support. Especially given the scale of the war’s destruction in Gaza, the EJHN stands as a lifeline, the only access to top-tier medical care, specifically cancer treatment, for Palestinians. Additionally, the onerous security constraints placed on the Palestinian people mean medical access limited by the war is even more narrow, making the EJHN and its support even more necessary. To keep the network and its vital medical services functioning, urgent government and institutional support is needed.
