Contribuyendo a la capacitación de líderes eclesiales / Training of Ecclesial Leaders

Durante el segundo semestre académico del 2017 (julio-diciembre) la Comunidad Teológica de México (CTdeM) ofreció a sus estudiantes el curso Taller de lectura e interpretación bíblica, con la participación de 20 líderes y lideresas de diversas iglesias. El curso se desarrolló como parte de los programas de Diplomado en Biblia y Licenciatura en Teología. Los estudiantes llegaron de los distintos Seminarios que conforman la CTdeM, compartiendo sus experiencias y riquezas confesionales.

El curso inicio con una invitación a escribir nuestra “biografía bíblica”, haciendo memoria de nuestras aproximaciones a la Biblia, es decir, cómo fue nuestro contacto – encuentro con la Biblia desde la niñez hasta hoy. También valoramos las formas en que se usa la Biblia en nuestras iglesias durante la liturgia, la predicación, la escuela dominical y otros espacios. Esto nos ayudó a tomar conciencia de la importancia de leer e interpretar la Biblia, con metodologías que faciliten una mejor comprensión y aplicación del mensaje bíblico.

En las últimas sesiones los estudiantes compartieron sus experiencias y vivencias en cuanto a la pertinencia y utilidad del curso. Fue gratificante escuchar comentarios positivos:

• “Disfruté los tiempos de ejercicios prácticos porque nos motivaron a leer e interpretar la Biblia desde nuestras situaciones cotidianas, para resolver problemas y responder a necesidades personales, familiares y eclesiales”.
• “Aprendimos la importancia de leer la Biblia en distintas versiones y comparar nuestros resultados con información de diferentes autores. Al final la propuesta del método de interpretación que trabajamos fue sencilla y muy completa”.
• “Las explicaciones fueron sencillas y todo se reforzaba a través de los ejercicios de lectura e interpretación. Me pareció muy pertinente el enfoque de la lectura contextual de la Biblia, que nos permitió aplicar las enseñanzas bíblicas a situaciones concretas de la vida”.
• “Durante el curso logramos crear un ambiente de respeto y colaboración, que nos permitió trabajar con entusiasmo y disfrutar de cada clase. Los métodos usados fueron claros y objetivos, facilitando su aplicación en un ambiente ameno y agradable”.
• “Comprendimos que leer y estudiar la Biblia no debe ser una tarea tediosa y aburrida, todo lo contrario, la metodología de taller nos permitió disfrutar el curso y deleitarnos en el escudriñamiento de las Escrituras”.

Uno de los propósitos del curso era aportar a la calidad del trabajo ministerial. Algunos de los estudiantes son pastores y animadores en espacios de lectura e interpretación bíblica en sus iglesias con diversos grupos etarios (niños, jóvenes y adultos) y la experiencia del curso les ha ayudado con nuevas ideas y metodologías. Los comentarios en este sentido fueron:

• “El curso me ayudó mucho en la preparación de la predicación y la enseñanza bíblica, ahora elijó y aplicó uno de los métodos que estudiamos. Antes de consultar comentarios o libros de hermenéutica, recuerdo que yo aprendí y puedo hacerlo primero por mí mismo”.
• “La experiencia en el curso me ha ayudado en la manera de acercarme y leer la Biblia. Ahora considero los métodos hermenéuticos para comprender mejor el mensaje de cada libro o escritor bíblico, haciendo más clara y efectiva mi predicación”.
• “El curso incidió en la calidad con que preparamos nuestros sermones y enseñanzas bíblicas, siendo ahora más eficientes en nuestras labores eclesiales y pastorales. Nuestras congregaciones agradecen mucho que sigamos mejorando y profesionalizándonos en nuestros ministerios”. ”Nos gustaría contar con una guía que contenga los métodos con sus ejercicios, una especie de manual. También deseo conocer otros métodos y tener más tiempo para ejercitarnos en ellos”.

Sin duda alguno, esta aventura de leer e interpretar la Biblia en comunidad es realmente una experiencia transformadora. Estoy agradecido por la oportunidad de haber facilitado este tiempo de mutuo aprendizaje, afirmando ahora, que lo más importante y valioso que tenemos las iglesias y seminarios de teología son las personas. Somos nosotros los que construimos comunidad y
podemos hacer la diferencia, recordando que el aprendizaje es un compartir en el camino de la vida.

During the second academic semester of 2017 (July-December) the Theological Community of Mexico  (CTdeM) offered its students a course on reading and interpretation of the Bible, with the participation of 20 leaders from different churches. The course was developed as part of the programs for the Diploma in Bible and Degree in Theology. The students came from the various seminaries that make up the CTdeM, sharing their experiences and confessional riches.

The course started with an invitation to all of us to write our own “biblical biography,” recalling our approaches to the Bible, that is, how was our encounter with the Bible from childhood until today. We also value how the Bible is used in our churches during the liturgy, preaching, Sunday school, and other moments in life. This helped us to become aware of the importance of reading and interpreting the Bible, with methodologies that facilitate a better understanding and application of the biblical message.

In the last sessions, the students shared their experiences regarding the relevance and usefulness of the course. It was gratifying to hear positive comments:

• “I enjoyed the time with practical exercises because they motivated us to read and interpret the Bible from our everyday situations, to solve problems and respond to personal, family, and ecclesial needs.”

• “We learned the importance of reading the Bible in different versions and comparing our results with information from different authors. In the end, the proposal of the method of interpretation that we worked on was simple and very complete.”

• “The explanations were simple, and everything was reinforced through the reading and interpretation exercises. I found the approach of the contextual reading of the Bible very relevant, which allowed us to apply the biblical teachings to concrete situations in life.”

• “During the course, we managed to create an environment of respect and collaboration, which allowed us to work with enthusiasm and enjoy each class. The methods used were clear and objective, facilitating their application in a pleasant and pleasant environment.”

• “We understood that reading and studying the Bible should not be a tedious and boring task, on the contrary, the workshop methodology allowed us to enjoy the course and delight in the scrutiny of the Scriptures.”

One of the purposes of the course was to contribute to the quality of ministerial work. Some of the students are pastors and animators in reading and interpretation spaces in their churches with diverse age groups (children, youth, and adults) and the experience of the course has helped them with new ideas and methodologies. The comments in this sense were:

• “The course helped me a lot in the preparation of preaching and biblical teaching, now I chose and apply one of the methods we studied. Before consulting comments or hermeneutical books, I remember what I learned and I can do it first by myself.”

• “The experience in the course has helped me in the way I approach and read the Bible. Now I consider the hermeneutical methods to better understand the message of each book or biblical writer, making my preaching clearer and more effective.”

• “The course impacted the quality with which we prepared our sermons and biblical teachings, we are now more efficient in our ecclesial and pastoral work. Our congregations are very grateful that we continue to improve and professionalize our ministries.”

• “We would like to have a guide that contains the methods with their exercises, a kind of manual. I also want to know other methods and have more time to put them into practice.”

Without a doubt, this adventure of reading and interpreting the Bible in the community is indeed a transformative experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to have facilitated this time of mutual learning, affirming now that the most important and valuable thing that we have churches and theological seminaries are the people. We are the ones who build community, and we can make a difference, remembering that learning is a sharing in the path of life.
