Far, Far Away in Remote Eastern Tibet
The Story of the American Doctor Albert Shelton and His Colleagues from the Disciples of Christ 1903-1950

By Aidong Zhao and Xiaoling Zhu

Far, Far Away in Remote Eastern Tibet not only illustrates an encouraging story about love, bravery and hardship, but also presents many valuable historical facts about Eastern Tibet, regional cultural interaction and friendship among different peoples.

It took Aidong Zhao and Xiaoling Zhu more than two years to complete this historical book with photos about Dr. Albert L. Shelton and his colleagues of the Tibetan Christian Mission (TCM) of the Disciples of Christ. They state that although it’s not the first book about Shelton and the TCM, it’s the first time their stories from 1903 to 1950 are being shared universally.

The book includes more than 487 rare photos and historical accounts, many of which are being seen for the first time.

Far, Far Away in Remote Eastern Tibet is a unique witness of the history of Eastern Tibet in the first half of the 20th century.
