Dr. Robert Orr was appointed Assistant Secretary-General for Strategic Planning and Policy Coordination in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General in August 2004.
He led the Secretariat’s efforts to complete the UN reform agenda which was agreed to by world leaders at the 2005 World Summit. Dr. Orr served as Director of Global and Multilateral Affairs at the National Security Council, where he was responsible for peacekeeping and humanitarian affairs.
Dr. Orr grew up in First Congregational Church in Santa Barbara, CA and is currently attending Park Avenue Christian Church in New York.
