The Men’s Brotherhood of St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ, in Maiden, North Carolina, recently held a BBQ fundraiser meal at the church to raise money to help a local food pantry and to support the work of Shepherd’s Field YMCA, in Beit Sahour, West Bank Palestinian Territory. Beit Sahour is a small town just outside Bethlehem and the site of Shepherd's Field, where tradition holds the angels first told the shepherds about the birth of Jesus. At the heart of this historical town is the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), a center for healing and community service. The YMCA has been a close partner program with Global Ministries for many years. With their gift of $225.50, the Men’s Brotherhood is helping to minister to Palestinian children in their time of need.
