Global Ministries joins in letter to Sec. Kerry on Israeli settlements

In a letter sent to the State Department, and the White House on Wednesday, Global Ministries joined ecumenical partners in “urg[ing the US Adminstration] to support the EU’s guidelines to ensure that European Union tax dollars do not fund illegal settlement activity, and to develop a similar policy to regulate US funding to Israel. These guidelines are a move in the right direction, making clear that all settlement activity is unacceptable, and they deserve your support.” The EU policy brought a negative response from the US. In the letter, eight Christian organizations, including Global Ministries, hoped to draw attention to the ongoing settlement construction, and the barrier they represent to progress on the peace process.
