Global Ministries received award from the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea

PROK_award.jpgAt the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea 100th General Assembly, our churches were represented at the event by Rev. Karen Georgia Thompson from the UCC and Jinsuk Chun from the Disciples. They received, on behalf of Global Ministries, a Plaque of Appreciation from the PROK. The plaque reads:

“For accompanying the PROK in its faith witness through valuable support to the advocacy and programs on justice, peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, especially the struggle of the Gangieong village against the construction of a naval base, for abiding solidarity with the suffering and marginalized people such as the foreign migrant workers and the families of victims of the sunken Sewol Ferry, and for incarnating Christ’s gospel of peace in the Korean Peninsula though the passing of the Resolutions on Peace and Reunification of the Korean Peninsula.”

May this recognition from a partner be a source of encouragement for us all. Many thanks to East Asia Executive Xiaoling Zhu for the way he has nurtured this important relationship over the course of the past 15 years!
