(1 Corinthians 3:9)

We are grateful to God for giving us the opportunity to be faithful collaborators of the work that God has with this Paraguayan land.  Lands where there are an indigenous people who continue with their traditions, customs and dialects.  Places where humble people who speak Guarani and Spanish, take mate and tereré.  A people who experience a God of mercy in the midst of complex and difficult times, because the Lord’s presence fills us all with hope, confidence and trust that there are new possibilities and opportunities for the people and the Paraguayan communities.  God cares for them and uses the people to continue to bless them in the midst of their daily realities.

Paraguay_-_MISIONERO_RVDO._GEORGE_E._WILEY_JR_(2).jpgIt is for this reason that the first missionaries had the vision, mission and commitment with these people to accompany them with diaconal projects that served the communities and the communities of faith.  It’s been a century ago that the first missionaries arrived to Paraguay, to be an instrument of blessing in this land rich in tributaries of crystalline waters.  From this work of service, commitment and loyalty to God arose two projects that have transformed and shaped by means of education, the solidarity, health and Christian values to thousands of Paraguayans.

95 years ago the International College of Paraguay, provides Paraguay_-_DEVELAR_ESCULTURA_COPA_LOGO_DISCIPULOS_DE_CRISTO.jpgeducational services to people who have been educated and trained in ethical, Christian values; making the college a prestigious institution that has known to give from what they have received, serving as support to the Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Paraguay.

We also want to mention Friendship Mission’s Polyclinic.  A place acclimated to the times and has renewed its services according to the needs and realities to forever fulfill their mission and diaconal commitment with the community.  It currently has clinics and professionals to serve around 2,500 patients monthly.  It has pediatrics, gynecology, dentistry, ophthalmology, general practitioner, nutritionist, psychologist, laboratory, X-rays, mammography and other services.  It has a hard working staff, who Paraguay_-_CULTO_GRACIAS_ESCUELA_PINOZA_2015_(2).jpggives of their time and skills with love, responsibility and commitment; where the love of the Lord reigns in everything they do.  In addition, they have a nursing school of excellence, despite their restricted economic resources; they educate at a limited cost in order to continue training health professionals of excellence that serve the people in their respective areas of medical services.  This nursing school is well in demand; students come from different places, some distant locations and in their majority are low-income.

In these facilities we also want to mention that there is a temple that is open and available to serve the community with love, respect and great responsibility.  It also has two soccer fields that is open to the community, where it has a team coordinator and community activities are coordinated to benefit the residents of the community and their children.  We cannot fail to mention the first and second grade levels of Friendship Mission, which offers educational services to children and adolescents in the community.

We should ask ourselves what is the challenge facing all of these services of Friendship Mission.  Its biggest challenge is staying confident, believing that God will continue to provide to continue offering qualify services that each member of the family, from childhood and that every adult needs and deserves love, solidarity and respect.

This Friendship Mission Project has been made possible, thanks to a noble, sensitive, God-fearing people, how little or how much they have, have been able to share and become a reality this diaconal project that reaches the Paraguayan people.  Thanks to you, these facilities have the necessary medical equipment to diligently serve the community who comes to receive service.  The distance should not be a hindrance so that to bless this community with your support through prayer and the support you understand necessary to bless the Paraguayan people through the church and their diaconal institutions.  Thanks for being a part of this ministry of love and diaconal service.
