The Maine Conference hosted 12 young people and four advisors from their partnership with the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Honduras for three weeks during June and July 2007.

The guests arrived in Maine on Wednesday, June 20 and spent the night at our Rockcraft Retreat Center on Sebago Lane. On Thursday, they boarded a bus with 38 young people from Maine and traveled to New Haven Connecticut for the Amistad departure celebration.  They then returned to Hartford to participate in General Synod 26 and the 50th Anniversary of the United Church of Christ for the weekend.

On Sunday all of the young people, returned to Maine to attend church camp, Pilgrim Lodge, for the remainder of the week.  Following camp, each Honduran visitor was hosted by families from two different churches, spending 4 days in each community.  The visitors returned to Honduras after attending a July 4th celebration hosted by the Honduras Partnership Committee.

During their stay in the United States, the Honduran visitors were accompanied by translators and members of Maine congregations that had previously visited Honduras, to help them understand what was happening.
