News of the upcoming Christmas reflection booklet by Kairos Palestine

With this letter we would like to inform you about our upcoming Kairos Palestine Christmas Alert 2014.
Kairos Palestine is currently preparing a Christmas Alert in the form of a four-week Advent guide booklet, as we did in the last two years, in order to bring awareness about the deteriorating situation in Bethlehem (in the occupied Palestinian territories) and to encourage churches, parishes, lay-persons and clergy all around the world to remember this season that marks the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ by mentally coming and seeing the hurdles to peace.
This year we will focus especially on the human aspects of the impact of the Israeli occupation on the Palestinians in Bethlehem. Facts and figures (contributed by the esteemed Palestinian Human Rights Organisations St. Yves, BADIL and Hurryyat) will support the testimonies and stories as well as theological reflections from Palestinian theologians.
We are focussing on the following topics:
- Imprisoned parents – impact on spouses, focusing on children
- Refugees – impact on aggrieved party and descendants
- Family Unification – impact on spouses
- UN – Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian people
We will officially send out the Christmas Alert at the beginning of October 2014.
