    Prayers for Puerto Rico:

God, Creator of what we see and what we cannot see, we praise your name and give all glory to you. • Amor de Ecuador / Love for Ecuador

By: Dustin Riebel Jun 24, 2020

As I sit and watch the flower petals drop from tulip trees on Memorial Day I am reminded of Ecuador. While there I saw an array of beautiful flowers every single day walking along the streets of Quito. My wife and I went to Ecuador to serve with Fedice and Global Ministries. Fedice works with many different indigenous tribes to help create sustainable economic systems. Through agricultural, livestock, medical trainings, and volunteer work they facilitate growth and education all around Ecuador....Read more...

    Prayers for the Philippines:

Wellspring of Life and Love, we come to you with hearts grieving, tears flowing, voices trembling, and hands shaking. We are overwhelmed by torrents of life’s challenges: natural (and not so natural) disasters compounded by human actions that destroy our life support system as a whole and by those who feed on the flesh of the most vulnerable members of our society.

  • Venezuela: Between Between Resistance and Hope

By: Carmelo Alvarez Jun 16, 2020

I have been getting recently different messages directly from Venezuela.  Some of them expressed concerns and uncertainties about the future. Most of these messages stressed and showed the tension between resistance and hope.  My understanding is that there is a deep conviction, primarily among pastors and lay leaders, that affirms a faith that provides a horizon of hope for the future.

We ended our four-year term of service with our partners, the Protestant Church of East Timor (IPTL), on March 1.  Our departure from Lospalos was bittersweet.  Friends who have become our Timor family from Imanuel Clinic and Imanuel Church saw us off on the afternoon of our departure from Lospalos.

  • Apprehension

By: Nishan Bakalian Jun 08, 2020

After the resurrection, when Jesus told his followers to sit and wait for what was next, I wonder if they were filled with a sense of dread about the unknown future. It is easy for us, twenty-one centuries later, to paint that upper room scene in colors of joyful anticipation of the coming of God’s promise, but it is doubtful that those colors were on the disciples’ palette at the time. Meeting together behind closed doors to pray and elect...Read more...

    Dear Heavenly Parent,

In this time of fear and uncertainty, please hear our prayers. In this time of the pandemic, where we feel separated both physically and emotionally, let us handle your presence.
