Prayers for Zambia:
O, Heavenly Father, thank you for this wonderful story about Jesus healing a tortured soul. Even though most of us do not experience illness and psychological distress as “demons” anymore, the reality of such trials as these is ever present in our beloved Zambia. Children and adults here and everywhere continue to suffer the desolation and pain of mental illness. We, your creatures, Father,...Read more...

After a lifetime spent in either the Northern Hemisphere or the tropics it seems a little odd to be commemorating Ascension Day and Pentecost as temperatures are getting cold. (And even if winter isn’t technically quite here yet in Lesotho, nor in its full fury, things have definitely shifted from cool to cold; most conversations pretty quickly include the phrase “Hoa bata,” (it’s cold) and the acknowledgment that winter is here.)Read more...

Today we pray for Indonesia, a country enriched but also divided by the diversity of your creation: a country where palm oil plantations obliterate the native forests; where young people are bought and sold, their bodies a sacrifice to the gods...Read more...

Do you recall some big protests in Hong Kong at the end of 2014? That was the heady time of the “Occupy Movement” and “Umbrella Movement”. Tens of thousands of citizens, especially young people, took to the streets in a mass sit-in to fight for universal suffrage and democracy. The 79-day event seems long over and forgotten.Read more...

Prayers for Kenya:
Thank you, God, for modern day prophets like Rev. Dr. Timothy Njoya, his bruises and the humiliation he suffered have changed the political landscape of Kenya. We also want to pray for Kenya as we go through a drought this long rainy season. We especially want to pray for those who died because of lack of water and food in the Turkana region and other arid regions in Kenya. AmenRead more...

Prayers for Haiti:
All loving and gracious God, You have given us a new commandment - to love one another. We are to love others as You have loved us. You did not come to teach us only in words, not to rule over us with laws and regulations. And we thank You for being the perfect model of love. You came to show us how to truly...Read more...
