  • Thapelong, Cabbage, and the Divine

    By: Danielle Murry-Knowles Aug 20, 2019

One of the most intimate settings in which we’ve been able to connect with our Basotho neighbors has been at our weekly Prayer Circle meetings, ThapelongThapelong gatherings are encouraged denomination-wide in the Lesotho Evangelical Church of Southern Africa (LECSA) and are seen by many involved in church-life as a vital expression of their faith. The LECSA church that we attend in the capital city of Maseru is very large and has many Thapelong groups organized by neighborhood.

    Prayers for El Salvador:

We thank God for this woman hunched over from the Gospel of Luke, who impresses us with her strength to remain visible in spite of the bend in her back in religious and social spaces and at the same time invisible because of the reality of exclusion in her society and religion for 18 years.

We thank God for the Salvadoran women who...Read more...

Our land is bleeding, O God, as well as your people. We raise to you our pains and laments!

By: Judy Chan Jul 19, 2019

    Dear Friends,

New conflicts are happening daily in Hong Kong in mass protests against the Hong Kong government. What triggered the last four weeks of mind-boggling events was the government’s unwise proposal to allow Hong Kong residents charged with certain crimes to be extradited to other jurisdictions, even where there was no formal agreement between the two places.
