Nuclear Explosion Victim Groups Conference in Tokyo, Japan

NUCLEAR EXPLOSION VICTIM GROUPS CONFERENCE

TOKYO, JAPAN

 

The Japan Association of Atomic and Hydrogen Bomb Explosion Victim Group (Association) held their 5th regular General Conference in Tokyo. During the meeting the Association stated with the present leadership of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Japan will be launched back into a state of war, and this is a very dangerous state.  A resolution was also adopted to Treasure the 9th Article of the Constitution of the World. The decided approach to this year’s campaign after the closing of the Conference supports policy one of the main aspects for the realization of a world that is without nuclear weapons and war. Council Secretary Tian Zhongxi emphasized during the press conference after the meeting that “nuclear explosion victims have lived through the war . . . measures must be taken to change things.  The Resolution claims to adhere to the 9th Article of the Constitution that states ‘everything we can do to build a peaceful world’. This was the origin of the movement of the nuclear explosion victim group in order to avoid further nuclear victims . . .” There was also the adoption of a special Resolution, stating that “playing a role in the 9th Article of the Constitution is the mission of the nuclear explosion victim group, and this agreement will strongly demand that Japan’s Government do its utmost to abolish nuclear weapons. The campaign approach to the agreement is to request from the Japanese Government and from the United States a “nuclear umbrella”.  Also to reaffirm the fate suffered by the victims of nuclear radiation in Fukushima, the abandoned nuclear power plants, and specifically against the export of nuclear technology.
