Taiwan Theological College and Seminaries

Founded in 1872, the Taiwan Theological College and Seminary is not only Taiwan’s oldest theological school but also one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions for theological education in Asia. Perched on the edge of the Yangming Mountain overlooking Taipei, the manicured campus grounds are home to an international community of students and scholars focused on pursuing the knowledge of God, and performing the ecclesiastical and social work of God’s kingdom in Taiwan and abroad.

The educational heritage of the college as well as its focus on rigorous, research-led teaching is well-known throughout the region. While the college acts as the teaching arm of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, we welcome students from a broad range of denominations and traditions. As its name suggests, the Taiwan Theological College and Seminary represents the voices of Taiwan’s diverse Christians, and welcomes students from among Taiwan’s indigenous tribes, as well from Mandarin-speaking and Taiwanese-speaking communities. The college offers a unique focus on local and contextual theological discovery.

Yet the college also enjoys a wealth of international contacts and is a member of various global networks. On campus, students draw on the skills and talents of an international faculty trained among the best universities of Europe and North America. Our strong international networks also give our students the opportunity to study abroad, and to connect with Christians and churches around the world.
