Hogar Forjadores de Esperanza Inc. – Puerto Rico

The Forjadores de Esperanza Children’s Home is a foster home approved by the Department of the Family of the Government of Puerto Rico. It opened its doors in 1993. It arose from the efforts of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Puerto Rico in response to the urgent need to house abused, orphaned, and homeless children. The purpose of this institution is to provide a home for these children, between the ages of 5 and 13, who have been removed from the custody of their parents by the judicial authorities.

In addition to being a home where children find the peace, love, and tranquility they so desperately need, the home also offers the following essential services: medicine, medical, dental, nutritional, psychological, psychiatric, and audiological care, as well as the assistance of speech-language pathologists and social workers. Recreational activities, cultural activities, and arts and crafts are also offered. Currently, the home is managed by a Board of Directors composed of Christian individuals. Daily operations are carried out by a permanent staff trained in childcare and a group of volunteers who work in various areas.

El Hogar Infantil Forjadores de Esperanza es un hogar de crianza aprobado por el Departamento de la Familia del Gobierno de Puerto Rico. Abrió sus puertas en 1993. Surgió de los esfuerzos de la Iglesia Cristiana Discípulos de Cristo en Puerto Rico en respuesta a la urgente necesidad de albergar a niños maltratados, huérfanos y sin hogar. El propósito de esta institución es brindar un hogar a estos niños, de entre 5 y 13 años, que han sido privados de la custodia de sus padres por las autoridades judiciales.

Además de ser un hogar donde los niños encuentran la paz, el amor y la tranquilidad que tanto necesitan, el hogar también ofrece los siguientes servicios esenciales: atención médica, dental, nutricional, psicológica, psiquiátrica y audiológica, así como la asistencia de logopedas y trabajadores sociales. También se ofrecen actividades recreativas, culturales y de artesanía. Actualmente, el hogar es administrado por una Junta Directiva compuesta por personas cristianas. Las operaciones diarias son realizadas por un personal permanente capacitado en el cuidado de niños y un grupo de voluntarios que trabajan en diversas áreas.
