Fundacion de Ayuda Social de las Iglesias Cristianas (FASIC) – Chile

The organization provides legal guidance and information on immigration procedures, training sessions, and joint activities (mental health services, social reintegration, etc.), professional and humanitarian assistance (i.e., employment projects, scholarships, etc.).

The Foundation for Social Aid of Christian Churches (FASIC) was founded on April 1, 1975, continuing the work begun by CONAR (National Committee for Refugee Aid) in September 1973. It is an ecumenical institution committed to the daily practice of human rights and inspired by the Christian perspective of liberation and human dignity. Its mission is based on a broad ecumenical vision, encompassing not only members of different churches but also people of diverse religious beliefs. FASIC emerged because of the Civic-Military Dictatorship that prevailed in Chile, between September 1973 and March 1990, taking on the defense of the Human Rights of the most vulnerable, oppressed, and marginalized people under the repressive system imposed by the Dictatorship.

Currently, FASIC has focused its work on two lines of action: Migrations and the Conservation of Documentary Heritage, produced and compiled by the institution since its founding.

La ​​Fundación para la Ayuda Social de las Iglesias Cristianas (FASIC) se fundó el 1 de abril de 1975, continuando la labor iniciada por el CONAR (Comité Nacional de Ayuda a los Refugiados) en septiembre de 1973. Es una institución ecuménica comprometida con la práctica cotidiana de los derechos humanos e inspirada en la perspectiva cristiana de la liberación y la dignidad humana. Su misión se basa en una amplia visión ecuménica, que abarca no solo a miembros de diferentes iglesias, sino también a personas de diversas creencias religiosas. FASIC surgió a raíz de la dictadura cívico-militar que imperó en Chile entre septiembre de 1973 y marzo de 1990, asumiendo la defensa de los derechos humanos de las personas más vulnerables, oprimidas y marginadas bajo el sistema represivo impuesto por la dictadura. Actualmente, FASIC ha centrado su trabajo en dos líneas de acción: Migraciones y Conservación del Patrimonio Documental, producidas y recopiladas por la institución desde su fundación.
