Chesla Nickelson is assigned to serve as a Chaplain at the Inanda Seminary in Durban, South Africa. Inanda Seminary is a full-boarding school for high school girls. It is the oldest school for Black girls in South Africa, with an incredible legacy of grace and excellence. The chaplain plays a central role in the life of the school, as she oversees the Spiritual life of all: students, educators, boarding, ground staff, and administrators. The role of counseling largely falls on the chaplain, with the chaplain responsible for pulling in professional services where necessary, such as social workers and psychologists. Pastoral care is also offered to staff members. The chaplain works closely with the Life Orientation department in overseeing the running and facilitation of circles.
