The Division of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) seeks qualified candidates for the Director of Mission Interpretation and Constituency Relationships, based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The primary function is to coordinate and lead the interpretation and education work of Global Ministries for congregations, regions, general ministries and other constituencies of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); and to promote, develop and maintain global mission relationships and linkages with those constituencies as a critical presence priority. Since Global Ministries is a common witness of the Disciples’ Division of Overseas Ministries and Wider Church Ministries (WCM) of the United Church of Christ, the person in this position will work collaboratively with the Executive for Mission Education and Interpretation in WCM.

Qualified candidates will have human relations and public relations skills, excellent oral and written language skills, ability to articulate and witness to one’s faith perspective, understanding of and commitment to the global mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ in its broad range of concerns, and understanding of the polity and structures of especially the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Also, qualified candidates will have knowledge and training in desktop publishing software such PageMaker, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Power Point; undergraduate degree in communication, marketing, public relations, education, or similar field; skills and knowledge of web page development and maintenance. Some theological education is desirable.
