Pray for India on Sunday April 29, 2012

Prayers for India: John 10:11-18

Dear Lord, we, your flock of sheep, have gathered now to praise and worship you for all your goodness and mercy showered on us throughout the years even though we are not worthy of it. You have been our shepherd and have seen us through the mountains and the valleys, the streams and the desert, the highs and the lows of our life, and for this we are forever grateful, O Lord.  We acknowledge that you gave your life for us, your sheep, so that we can live. Give us the wisdom to live according to your teachings, always thinking about others before ourselves.

At this time, we pray for India and it’s vast majority which needs to be brought to your flock, Dear God, may we be the instruments to bring them to you through our witness and our service to humanity. We pray for the poor, the sick and the suffering, and we ask for your blessings upon them and us, as we try to help them. We pray for the Churches of North and South India, the Family Village Farm, and all our other partners in mission, Lord, bless them and guide them in their ministry. We ask this prayer in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Mission Stewardship Moment from India:

CT Scan, a far-fetched dream for a small mission hospital like Mungeli, became a reality in August last year, when we welcomed our new diagnostic facility – a GE Dual Slice CT Scan, and had the formal opening on December 5th 2011, under the auspices of the visiting Conference Ministers and Board members of CGM. Since the arrival of the CT, numerous patients have had the benefit of this modern technology at one-third the price they would have had to pay outside, and this has been possible only because of your support throughout our endeavors.

Another dream of ours which was realized last year was the opening of a Nursing school in our hospital. For years, we had depended on our sister institutions to provide us with the nurses we needed to cater to the growing number of patients and now we are able to train them in our own hospital. The school also serves a dual purpose of giving a subsidized education to young girls belonging to this rural area of Chattisgarh. We had a capping ceremony in February this year, of our first batch after they completed 6 months in the school and were given the caps for the first time by their tutors. What a joyous occasion….thanks to you all from the bottom of our hearts for all your support!
