{mosimage}In May, the Presbyterian Chrurch in the Republic of Korea (PROK) hosted the International Ecumenical Consultation on Peace in East Asia, organized by World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA).

Area Executive Rev. Dr. Xiaoling Zhu was present as a representative of Global Ministries. They expressed deep concerns over the expansion of US military bases in South Korea, and the change in the US military strategy that they fear puts Korea at the center of potential animosity between the US and China.

As part of the meeting, the Consultation released the Peace Statement.
