Prayers for Angola
God of justice, love, and liberation, we lift before You the people of Angola. We give thanks for Your abiding presence throughout their history and for the hope revealed in Jesus Christ, who walks with all people in times of suffering and joy.
Heal the wounds left by colonialism, the transatlantic slave trade, war, and oppression. Through Christ’s liberating love, break every chain of injustice and restore hope where there has been pain.
We celebrate the resilience, faith, and rich cultural heritage of the Angolan people. Strengthen them with the courage and hope of Christ, that they may continue to be witnesses of Your love and instruments of peace.
Bless the churches and faith communities of Angola. Unite them in service, deepen their partnerships, and empower them to seek justice, reconciliation, and the common good.
Bind us together with our siblings in Angola in relationships of humility, mutual learning, and shared purpose. May we walk alongside one another as one global family, working for a world where justice flows, peace prevails, and Your love is known by all. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Mission Moment from Angola

For more than a century, the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola (IECA) has been a faithful witness to God’s love, hope, and justice. Founded through the work of Christian missionaries in the late 19th century, IECA has grown into one of Angola’s largest Protestant churches, serving communities through worship, education, healthcare, agricultural development, and compassionate outreach.
Throughout Angola’s long struggle for independence and the devastating years of civil war, IECA remained a steadfast presence, offering spiritual care, advocating for peace, and helping communities rebuild their lives. Today, the church continues to respond to the challenges facing Angola by equipping leaders, supporting families, promoting education, and caring for vulnerable people in both rural and urban communities.
Global Ministries has been privileged to walk alongside IECA for generations, building a relationship rooted not in charity, but in mutual faith, shared mission, and accompaniment. Together, we celebrate the gifts each partner brings and seek to embody Christ’s call to love our neighbors across borders and cultures.
This partnership reminds us that mission is not something we do for one another, but something we do with one another. As we pray, learn, and serve together, we witness God’s Spirit at work through the strength, resilience, and faithful leadership of the people of Angola.
