Pray for South Africa on Sunday July 26, 2009
Lectionary Text and Prayers: John 6: 1-21
Dear Creator God, we thank you and praise you in these moments as we give purpose to our pause and recognize your presence with us. We are grateful for your many gifts of love. Just as your Son met the basic need of the hungry crowd by the sea shore sharing from the adequate to the abundant may we all share with one another. In these moments we celebrate Dr. Prince Dibeela the recently named moderator and treasurer to the Council of World Missions and hold in our thoughts the preparations for the upcoming August Biennial Assembly United Congregational Church Southern Africa planned for Botswana. Just as the winds and waves were calmed in the scriptures let us know your presence is within us all when we take a moment, give pause and recognize it.
Let this be so – Amen
